Dr Claire Higgins
Dr Higgins has worked as a research fellow in the field of occupational dermatology and patch testing, a special interest of hers, and in clinical trials for psoriasis and eczema treatments. She undertook her Dermatology training through multiple Victorian public hospitals, including St Vincent’s Hospital, Austin Hospital, Monash Health, Royal Women’s Hospital, and the Royal Children’s Hospital. She was awarded the John Fewings Memorial Prize for best paper in contact dermatitis.
Dr Higgins has published research in Australian and international journals and has contributed to several book chapters. She has completed a Master of Public Health majoring in health services management, with a focus on consumer participation in health service quality improvement.
Dr Higgins is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Her clinical interests include skin cancer detection and management, acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, hyperhidrosis/excess sweating, patch testing and women’s dermatology. Dr Higgins holds public appointments at Monash Health and the Skin Health Institute.
