Mr Vachara Niumsawatt

Dr Vachara Niumsawatt is a consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon with expertise in skin cancer surgery and complex reconstructive procedures.

He completed his medical degree at Monash University and holds a postgraduate diploma in Clinical Anatomy. He undertook advanced surgical training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, working across major plastic and reconstructive surgery centres in Victoria and Tasmania, including The Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Dr Vachara has extensive experience in the surgical management of skin cancers, as well as reconstructive procedures involving the face and other complex areas. His broader expertise includes trauma surgery, microsurgery, and reconstructive surgery of the hand and breast.

He holds public appointments at The Alfred Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and St Vincent’s Hospital.

Dr Vachara is actively involved in research and education, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and contributions to plastic surgery textbooks. He has received several awards through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons.

He is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
